Architecture & the city

Romain Laprade

Contemporary photographer · France

Ordinary places become mental images.

The story

After working as a graphic designer in the press, Romain Laprade devoted himself to photography. His work brings architecture, surfaces, light and warm colours into dialogue. Ordinary details and spaces often without people form a calm, precise visual world. His Distances books collect images made over the years. He pursues personal projects alongside commissions.

Understanding the work

Lines and planes of colour construct the scene. Look for the small detail that changes your perception of a place, then observe how the absence of people transforms scale and atmosphere.
