Starting with Paris, perspectives without borders
Luisour begins with Paris. Its directory of venues and resources already offers paths towards other photography cities. A city’s inclusion in the directory does not mean that a full local edition is available.
A selection, not a ranking
Browse profiles by name, practice or region. They form neither a ranking nor a definitive canon. The directory brings together documented figures, with sources for further exploration and discussion.
Start with the source
For exhibitions, we prioritise the organising venue. For photographers, we consult their websites, foundations, agencies and the institutions that hold their work. Our texts are original summaries, with visible links to the sources.
Images and the featured photographer
An image available online is not automatically free to reuse. Archival reproductions include source records and credits. Featured photographers are proposed and selected by the editor, then presented with the necessary permissions. A link to a portfolio does not constitute a collaboration.
Updates
Dated information includes the date it was checked. The exhibition list hides shows that have ended; the calendar also allows earlier dates to be explored. This does not replace fresh research. Editorial updates and newsletter delivery require an actual publication step; automation is not described as active without verification.
The name
