The story
Paola Franqui works under the name Monaris. A Puerto Rican photographer and filmmaker based in New Jersey, she is interested in the emotions and stories running through everyday situations. Her background in criminal justice and sociology informs her attention to people. Her street photography is in dialogue with portraiture and commissioned work. Her first book, Momentos, was published in 2021.
